Dear Valued Customers,
As you may be aware, one of Nexicom’s wireless towers experienced an outage as a result of the major ice storm in the first week of April. The storm caused a prolonged power outage and damage to key infrastructure at the site.
Since that time, Nexicom has been working closely with the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority (ORCA) to safely access and plan for the restoration of service in this environmentally sensitive area.
We are pleased to inform you that repairs to reconnect commercial power to the site will begin on Tuesday, June 24th. While this critical work is underway, the tower will continue operating on a backup generator.
Please be advised that during this period, intermittent service disruptions may occur, particularly during generator fueling and inspection intervals.
Once the site is successfully reconnected to commercial power and normal operations resume, Nexicom will send a follow-up communication to notify all affected customers.
