As you may be aware, one of Nexicom’s wireless towers experienced an outage as a result of the major ice storm in the first week of April 2025. The storm caused a prolonged power outage and damage to key infrastructure at the site.
Since that time, Nexicom has been working closely with the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority (ORCA) to safely access and plan for the restoration of service in this environmentally sensitive area.
We are pleased to inform you that repairs to reconnect commercial power to the site are now complete and the wireless tower at Selwyn is now running on commercial power.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during the process to fully restore service.
