Sometimes power outages or other interruptions in service will cause set top boxes (STB) to stop communicating with Nexicom, meaning they may not be able to display current Guide information or display picture and sound correctly.
In these cases, one of the self serve solutions is to simply reboot the set top box. This in intended to “force” the box to reboot and absorb any programming updates.
To reboot the box:
- Ensure you have all cables (power, ethernet and HDMI) connected correctly
- On the back side of the set top box, locate the power supply cable and unplug the cable from the box.
- Leave the unit unplugged for approximately 30 seconds
- Plug the power supply cable back in
- Power on the set top box using either the power button on the front of the box or the remote control
- The set top box should go through the Start Up Screens – this may take a few minutes
- If the update completes successfully, the setup screen will close and the set top box should default to the Weather Network
